Recognizing the importance of formal education in achieving his musical goals, Michael enrolled in Adelphi University College of Arts and Sciences, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Music Performance with a concentration in Music Composition (B.A.). Dedicated to continuing his musical education, Michael is currently pursuing his Doctorate (Ed.D.C.T.) from Columbia University Teachers College. His exceptional skills and experience in the music industry make him a force to be reckoned with. Michael's musical inspiration comes from legends such as Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Dave Koz, and his personal friend, David Sanborn. His music is characterized by a unique blend of Caribbean/Jazz-infused style with classic musical structures found in songs from the '80s.
Michael's profound love for music is evident in each note he plays, and his dedication to sharing this love with others is what will ensure his longevity in an industry that is often short-lived. You can catch Michael playing the saxophone, organ, or keyboard on Sundays at The Greater Allen Cathedral. In addition, he is an Adjunct Professor and Jazz Band Director at St. John's University, an Adjunct Instructor at Columbia University, and former Adjunct Professor at Manhattan School of Music. Despite his busy schedule, Michael remains devoted to his family, and his role as a husband and father of four.
